This year’s Zambian Independence Day Anniversary will be celebrated on the actual day of 24th October. Perryfield Promotions and Sondis Promotions have teamed up to stage a one-off combined Miss Zambia UK/Independence Day Celebrations 2008 event which will be held on Friday 24 October 2008 at the luxurious TROXY, 490 Commercial Road, London E1 0HX.
The combined Miss Zambia UK/Independence 2008 promises to be the biggest and most spectacular Zambian event of all times held abroad. Top Zambian artists will be flying in from Zambia to grace the special occasion. They will be joined by some of the hottest UK-based R&B and Hip Hop acts to give fans an unforgettable experience, complete with a live band.

The TROXY is a state-of-the-art and up-market entertainment venue. A stunning 1930’s Grade II listed building with multi-functional event space, the TROXY retains all the building’s original Art Deco with hints of modern fusion, bright open spaces and grand suites. The Grand Hall has 4 fully equipped bars managed by professional staff, six ladies cloakrooms and six gents’ cloakrooms with six cubicles in each and each cloakroom with its own professional attendant, two large performance stages, 10 plasma screens, two-tier seating with a huge VIP table seating section for mature people and those needing some privacy, while the top floor offers theatre style seating area with its own plasma screens, bars and WC facilities, suitable for students and younger fans. The venue comes complete with modern Audio Visual Technology and floating lights providing a chilled and atmospheric back drop. The TROXY is centrally located with free off street parking and easy access to public transport in all directions.

The 10th Anniversary Special Miss Zambia UK will be the most fiercely contested in the history of the Pageant with the first prize for the winner pledged as a ‘helping hand’ onto the property ladder. The sponsors will pay the deposit, stamp duty and all related fees, in addition to deferred payments on a mortgage to help the winner purchase a luxury flat. Hundreds of applications from contestants have already been received and continue to pour in. Other prizes pledged by sponsors include a car, holiday at a villa in Spain, Modelling Contract, trip to Paris, New York, etc. Each finalist will get the opportunity to represent Zambia at an international pageant abroad.
The combined event will kick off with a spectacular beauty pageant show followed by live performances from top Zambian and UK-based artists as well as dance music from top DJ’s. In previous years, fans of both Miss Zambia UK and Zambia Independence Celebrations have had to splash out twice by buying a ticket to Miss Zambia UK and another to the Independence Celebrations. This year, fans will just have to buy one special outfit and pay for only one entry ticket and yet still have the privilege of enjoying both events in a luxurious state-of-the-art venue. With fans already demanding tickets, tickets will shortly go on sale with concessions for students and loyal fans.
